posing coaching

Figure rewards a balanced, athletic shape with muscle tone and a small waist, presented through clean quarter turns. We coach the stance, the turns, and the presentation that show your lines at their best.

Mandatory poses and quarter turns

  1. 1Symmetry round: walk to centre and hold a front stance, hands off the hips, with a slight taper shown through the shoulders and waist.
  2. 2Quarter turn to the right into a side stance, keeping the waist tight and the line long.
  3. 3Quarter turn to the rear, showing back detail, a small waist, and a balanced lower body.
  4. 4Quarter turn to the remaining side, then back to the front to close the sequence.
  5. 5Individual presentation as a model walk; figure has no flexed mandatory poses, only the relaxed quarter turns.

Poses and judging points are based on the official IFBB Pro League and NPC division rules.

What the judges reward

  • A balanced, symmetrical shape with a clear V-taper: capped shoulders, a small waist, and an athletic lower body.
  • Muscle tone and separation shown while relaxed, firm and defined without the striations or dryness of bodybuilding.
  • Clean, controlled quarter turns that present every angle without rushing or losing the line.
  • Overall condition, poise, and a confident presentation in a two-piece suit and heels.

Common mistakes that cost points

  • Flexing or crunching into the quarter turns, when figure is presented relaxed with the shape doing the work.
  • Letting the waist relax, so the taper that scores in this division softens.
  • Coming in too hard and dry, which crosses into physique territory and away from figure's athletic look.
  • Rushing the turns, so the judges never settle on a clean, balanced position.

How ProFlow coaches it

Coached to the standard the panel is scoring

We build your figure presentation around the quarter turns: how to stand, where the hands go, and how to keep the waist tight and the shoulders open through every angle. You learn to show tone and shape while staying relaxed, then we refine the walk and the timing with weekly check-ins until each turn lands cleanly.
